Well Isn't This Unusual?

Well hey there!  Don't I suck at this "I'm now going to update regularly" thing? Yes, I do, even I'll admit it.  It's not that I don't want to come here and write something sparkling and fun, I do! I really do.  I like you all and I miss the interaction.  It's that, god damn, I have nothing much to say of late. I'm boring as can be.  It's summer, I'm out trying to enjoy the sun before it effs off again for the year.  And nothing exciting is happening.  Had a nice vacation in late June, which was fabulous, and now....normalcy.  That is all.

I mean it's nice, I'm relaxed, driving around on the weekend, eating pizza on Fridays, drinking wine (tonight actually, can you tell?) doing DIY projects like rewiring my old childhood globe lamp and adding an on/off switch, because I'm handy like that, and sanding, revamping some old furniture for the apartment, and planning some crafty stuff I need to make and oh yeah....looking for a new job. Who enjoys that chore?  Not me. Busy, busy, busy my friends.

Should there be an Oxford comma in that last sentence?  Do I really care?

I'm sorry this isn't funny but I'm full of wine and it's mid-week so that's either extravagant of me, or really, really sad.  I prefer the former.  I did clean the fridge today and it is sparkling. So white you need sunglasses to open it. I also bought little baskets and things to house various veggies and the like to stop them shedding skins (I'm talking to YOU, onions) and the like, and lined all my half empty condiment bottles up in the door (how come everyone can be almost out of groceries but always manages to have several thousand condiments?) Anyway, I'm so organized it's frightening.  This might be the most boring thing I've ever written.

I hope you are all enjoying summer?

Thanks with the insomnia cure veg.

Cut out the normal stuff and get back to the crazy, how are we supposed to live our lives vicariously through you if it's even duller than what we are up too, sheesh some people are so selfish!

  2. Ugh. I know what you mean. I have nothing to say either.... except that I DO HAVE THINGS TO SAY (G is taking us on all sorts of college tours this summer! *gulp*) but I guess I'm just not motivated to sit down and say it.

    What has happened to us?

  3. I'm almost at the state of boredom where I might clean the fridge too. And I haven't even started my stay-at-home-and-do-nothing-all-day vacation yet! I think I've figured out our kryptonite. It's when we have too little to complain about.

  4. Amuse me, dammit!!

I hear ya. I actually have tons of ideas for things but just haven't had the time to write. My stuff lately has been slight reprises to stuff I've already written. Ack.

  5. I know you guys, I think it's because we're blogging veterans and need a break. :) Pearl, you always have something to say, it's enviable! I need to ride the bus more and get me some stories. Cora, YIKES, college! Wasn't she just NINE? :) Hope everything's going well there!

  6. Bloggs: Eff you too, man :) I know, I need to go streak down the highway or something to keep you entertained. My bad.

Vinny: Well you seem to manage just fine and still not sound boring! Awww you're happy! Ha!!

  7. I'm just so impressed that you write now and then at all. So many fav blogs that have just peeted out into nothingness. Also, I don't have you in any of my feeds so I've totally missed your entire handiness?! My favorite pastime?? How??

Also, I'm impressed that you manage to read my blog posts. I've tried translating some and they come out reeeeaally weird because I use slang, shortcuts and words in ways that may not make sense for a computer fish!

  8. Ellet: Haha dude yes, I use Google Translate as my Swedish is...well NIL, frankly (hej!) and I have a good laugh sometimes at the way it puts things. Even so I understand perfectly what you are saying. Gosh, technology! :)

  9. It's a wonderful thing! So glad you can join because you're my e-mate, mate! Also, I would LOVE to run an english blog but I just don't have any time to. All that "life" stuff comes in the way, ya know. Ya know.

Just because I hope I can get SOMEONE else to try it, haha! I know I won't, but that won't keep me from trying!

  11. I've been having a great summer. My health club has an outdoor pool and I've managed to jump in three or four times per week! It's helped my weight-loss quest immensely...59 lbs. gone now.

  12. Ellet: Oh my god, that sounds LETHAL! And intriguing. And terrifying. :-)

Eva: Good Lord SIXTY POUNDS? that is amazing. You must have worked hard and have the will power of an ox, woman. That's fantastic.

  13. Oh boy, do I know what you mean. I have a bunch of posts in draft. Some are done, some are partials and some are nothing but a "catchy" title. They sound good when I make them, but when I go back at a later date they all look like crap.

Oh well, post when you have the urge, but don't worry about it. In the meantime, enjoy yourself.

  14. Blogging loses some fun if you think of it as a performance. I certainly don't need any more reasons to procrastinate. Thinking my next post needs to surpass my others only adds a complication to the process. Now I wonder if this was a boring comment. Oh well.
    I enjoyed your post.

  15. I'm trying. Just posted a long post today (mostly pictures) about our drive down the Oregon coast. Maybe I can inspire my wife to fill in the blanks on it?

  16. Pat: At least you have stuff to write about with your awesome traveling life. :-)

Lisle: Haha performance anxiety! Lack of anything interesting to say, not that it ever used to stop me!

Scope: Oh I will have a look for sure once I'm back at my computer. I can live vicariously through you guys. :-)

  17. Well, this just isn't acceptable! KIDDING! I would have thought the wine would help, but alas, I have lost my funny and have little time, so I understand. Perhaps when winter comes...

  18. Hey Momma! Well the wine did help in that it loosened my tongue, however nothing interesting dripped off it. :) How's the store doing?!?!

  19. Posting regularly is overrated. Wine is good! House projects. Good!

  20. Jules: YES TO ALL! That was a lazy response but I mean it.

So. People have nudged me about my total ineptness at updating this thing and they are correct. It's just, I don't have a life reall...
